how many seasons will lidstrom play before he retires?
he has the end of this season and im about 90% sure hes signed for next year as well. do you think he calls it quits after that or will he play into his 40s.

Nick has stated his desire to make sure his kids get at least part of their education in his native Sweden and really struggled to sign his last deal so I am positive he calls it a career when his deal ends after next season. Money isnt a motiviating factor, over the past 10 years if I remember correctly he will have been the highest overall paid player during that stretch (if not the top then certainly top 3, I know Jagr was right there with him) . He has always operated with class and I cant see him hanging on....he is a classic finish off the career while still on top of his game and economics may play a role in any forthcoming decision as well, the Wings will need to consider cap space (and the current economy suggests the cap at best levels off, at worst shrinks) and they will need to bring along the Ericcsons and Kindls real soon (Ericcson will need to be on the roster next year or be exposed to waivers....Kindl is simply too good to keep in GR for much longer). It will be a sad day when he announces his retirement but all good things must come to an end and I am afraid next season will be his last.
