Built my first AM2, please any suggestion what to change. Today's Date 24/02/2007 HELP?
Hello all, I would like your comments to help me make my computer a little better and faster. I'm totally with the parts I need to buy and this is what I have on hand currentcly now. 1) AM2 64X2@2.2Ghz 2) SNPS9700 Zalman heatsink LED 3) Seagate Barracuda SATA II 16MB Serial ATA 3.0 Gb / s 500 GB 4) 2 GB Turbo Memory (2x1GB) DDR2 800 PC 6400 ECC 5-5-5-15 no 5) Geforce 6800 256MB PCI-Express SLi 6) Hard drive cooler. 7) Asus M2N32 SLI Deluxe WiFi version (motherboard) 
Memory Cooler (neon version of crab) that lights up my memory. 9) Sony DVD-RW the newer model with double layer. 10) A Sony flopply drive. 11) All in one Card Reader with USB 2.0 12) Power 550watt, seen through the clear version made by Gist. 13) A transporancy clear acrylic case custum. 14) Red 18 "SATA II cable glow. Not a bad configuration, in agreement with the first poster, I personally as the series SoundBlaster X-Fi sound cards rather than the board, please. address on the same form factor, verifying that the case is compatible. You probably do not need a floppy drive, I do keep around load drivers while installing XP for the SATA is everything. ALWAYS make a backup of your current BIOS disk image before the flash! You learned the hard way ... I agree on the price. I also built using ASUS 7 pc over the years, and only had to return 1 MB. Good stable product. BUT, and I'm sure your research, there are so many other good high-MB is there for much less. My current version, which shows it is age a bit when it comes to playing the latest games, is built on ECS MB. 2 years without so much as a hiccup. I just wanted to pass this long.
